We know your time is valuable and we appreciate you spending some of it visiting our website. For starters, CarryOn Firearms Training is a newly formed firearms training company with an important list of offerings to assist you, your family, friends, coworkers, organization and anyone else you may know who is in need of our services. In the pages to follow, you will find the nine(9) courses currently offered by CarryOn Firearms Training and they are all excellent classes to take. We have Certified Instructors for all the courses being offered.
The first group of courses now available are from the USCCA. USCCA stands for the United States Concealed Carry Association and the courses include the Handgun Fundamentals Course (UHFC), Concealed Carry Fundamentals Course (CCFC) and Home Defense Fundamentals Course (HDFC). The UHFC course is an excellent course that will teach you what you need to know for safe, controlled and proper firearms handling, shooting, storage and more. This course is intended for all adults regardless of previous shooting experience or USCCA affiliation. The CCFC course is suited for anyone looking to take the Texas Licensed to Carry Course (TLTC). It is based on the premise; you are carrying a concealed handgun. It delves into the legal aspects of Concealed Carry, the aftermath of a defensive shooting and more. The HDFC course covers the fundamentals of how to secure the home in an effective, defensively minded manner. More information concerning these courses can be found on the USCCA’s Course Offerings Page.
WE OFFER the USCCA’s Certified Instructor Course! This course is for people who wish to become a USCCA Certified Instructor, taught by our very own USCCA Certified Training Counselor! More information on this and all the USCCA offerings is available on the USCCA’s Course Offerings Page.
The next group of courses offered by CFT are available from the NRA. NRA stands for the National Rifle Association. Included are the Basic Pistol Shooting Course (BPSC), Personal Protection Inside The Home (PPIH), Personal Protection Outside The Home (PPOH), Refuse To Be A Victim (RTBV), Range Safety Officer Certification (RSOC). BPSC is an excellent course that will teach you what you need to know for safe, controlled and proper firearms handling, shooting, storage and more. It is a course consisting of a classroom portion one day and a hands-on practical portion conducted at the range the next day. This course is taught under the guidance and supervision of an NRA Certified Instructor and an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer, as are all our courses. The course is intended for all adults regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. PPIH teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense. PPOH takes it a little further by examining one’s needs for personal protection while away from the home. The time on the range explores a variety of potential shooting scenarios and ways of practicing for such situations. The RTBV seminar includes classroom instruction on criminal psychology, automobile crimes, cyber safety, home security, and a variety of crime prevention strategies including carjack avoidance techniques, use of personal safety devices, and more. The information presented in the seminar is usable by everyone. The RSOC course is designed to teach the student what is necessary to conduct a safe, smooth running and responsible range, with strong emphasis on SAFETY. More information concerning these courses can be found on the NRA’s Course Offerings Page.
The last course CarryOn Firearms Training offers is the Texas Licensed to Carry Course (LTCC). CFT is certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety as an Instructor for this course and the details for this course can be found on the Texas LTC Page. I would like to mention one thing that a lot of people seem to be unaware of when it comes time to take their LTC Course and that is: knowing that this class will teach the bare minimum about firearms safety, shooting, etc., due to the amount of time available. Hence, one of the important benefits of the UHFC and the BPSC courses is that they will take care of all of that for you. I have met many other Instructors for these courses and I don’t believe any of them would leave you hanging in the event you don’t get any prior training, but, it will put you in a more desirable, less stressful position, having completed one of these courses. So, regardless of how you prepare for your LTC Course, please do try to get in some range time and an understanding of handgun firearms and their safety rules. It will benefit you as much as anyone else and you will be more comfortable, confident, and responsible come qualifying time.
In the future, we will be adding classes as we move forward in our endeavors and they will be posted and available when that time comes.
When time permits, during these classes, we will be covering some other topics involved with personal situational awareness, personal safety, carrying a concealed firearm and other things that are relative to whichever class you are participating in at the time.
Education and knowledge are wonderful things, no matter what the topic is, so please continue thumbing through the pages of our website to further discover your options and information presented to you by CarryOn Firearms Training and you might as well bookmark this site …CarryOn!
